Ambient Sounds for Games
The creation. . .
These sounds were created using soft synths, then processed using Pro Tools. Real sounds were also used to add complexity.
The challenge was to create sounds that are subtle but complex, interesting but doesn't destract, unpredictable but realistic. Listen to the variations in the sounds and how I worked to keep it alive. Even the emulsion has to be designed to ensure that it sounds interesting.
Also, for some ambient sounds, the game audio engine can be used to add realisim in environment by processing the sounds based on the relative position of the game character.
